Lillie Road Arts and Antiques Quarter

A set of eight antique Italian faience plates by Giovanni Battista Viero decorated with hand painted fruit and scalloped rim. Each plate bears the painted makers mark "GBV Nove" and crown on the base .

Viero's highly acclaimed studio was located in Nove Italy and was in operation from 1868-1916. The plates most likely date from the early 1900's and have tiny nibbles to the rim commensurate with age and one of them has a significant repair (see image).  We are selling eight plates for the price of seven.
