Early C17TH English boarded oak chest otherwise known as a sword chest. Popular for their rustic simplicity - this is a useful sized example with hand cut iron hob nails and an excellent dark even colour and lustrous waxed patina built up over 400 years. In fine original condition the top is partially split to one side, stabilised and battoned) Ideal for the end of a bed or a low side table.
