A late 19th century oil on board portrait of a gentleman by German Impressionist painter Hans von Faber du Faur (1863-1940).
Faber du Four studied in Germany and subsequently lived and worked in Paris, becoming a member of the Salon d`Automne in 1909 and maintaining contact with Henri Matisse, Henri Rousseau and Pablo Picasso.
