A 17th Century French Leather & Brass Malle on Stand

An exceptional leather covered French travelling trunk or 'Malle' with decorative brass studs, rosettes and lozenges to the front and top.  Of particular interest are the lions and griffins which would usually signify aristocracy.  Original handles, locks and hinges.  The Malle sits up a custom made contemporary black metal stand.
