A Large 19th C French White on White Embroidery in Contemporary Frame.

A wonderful antique French hand embroidery using a variety of highly skilled techniques, the most unusual of which is the fine ribbon work minutely sewn to create exquisite shapes.  The central monogram is AG.  This piece would almost certainly have been an eiderdown or comforter cover, hence its size.  We have had it framed in a black contemporary floating frame, so that from a distance it looks like a piece of modern art, only revealing itself to be an antique on close inspection.
