A Pair of 18th Century Italian Paperolles in Gilt Wood Frames

From Streett Marburg

Availability: SOLD

A pair of exquisitely crafted 18th C Italian paperolles, otherwise known as quilling.  These would have been created in monastries and convents from gilded paper, books and textiles donated by the local aristocracy. The backs are completely original and just as fascinating as the fronts.

Price is for the pair

Dimensions: 25cm w x 22.75cm h (each)

Condition: Please note that these pieces are extremely old.  We have left these them in their original antique condition.  There are cracks to the wobbly hand-blown glass and one frame has survived an encounter with woodworm, now treated and taken into account in the price.
