A Pair of 1950's French Brass Polychrome & Glass Side Tables by Maison Jansen
From Streett Marburg
A superb pair of mid-century side tables of exceptional quality in a distinct Neoclassical design style by Maison Jansen (see p 297 of 'Jansen Furniture' by James Archer Abbott for similar design). With brass frame and black lacquered legs, the brass has a beautiful vintage patina. A notable feature is the use of classical motifs, specifically the decorative brass hairy paw feet, a design element typical of Maison Jansen's work and the central decorative medallion to the centre of the x-form stretcher.
One of a number of pieces purchased from the same design including two consoles and a coffee table.
