A Rare Set of 8 Original Art Deco Metal Dining Chairs by Robert Mallet-Stevens

From Streett Marburg

Availability: in stock
Price: £8,000

A set of eight 1930's chairs by Robert Mallet-Stevens, the father of French Art Deco and an architect held in as high regard as le Corbusier.  These chairs were later copied by a French interior designer, and these copies are commonly found online.  These however are the real deal, confirmed by small differences such as the nailed and rounded seats, the patina etc.  It is incredibly rare to find one or two of these chairs but we have been lucky enough to source fifteen, which we are selling in one set of eight and one set of seven.  These can not only be considered collectors pieces but also useful dining chairs.  On a practical note, these chairs stack neatly.
