A Very Large Rare and Ornate Chinese Embroidery on Silk

This extraordinary embroidery is a very special collectors piece for many reasons. Firstly: it's vibrant colours, this has clearly spent most of its life in a cupboard - it has fully retained its original gold outlined vivid colours and condition; secondly: the design, which is, as far as we know, unique. The internal circular design is most unusual with its crown of flowers, butterflies, peacock, Lyre bird and Lion Dogs, and each corner is decorated with a cornucopia of colourful flowers and plants; finally, it's huge size, with its multi-coloured tassels this silk measures nearly 3 metres high by 2.80m wide. This exceptional piece could be shown as a bed cover or as a wall hanging.
