Lillie Road Arts and Antiques Quarter

This is lovely and unusual. It dates to the middle of the C18th....so coming on for 300 years in age. The design suggests it is Scandinavian, possibly Danish and is similar in design to our George II. The plate is now so old mottled and foxed through age that it shows a grey ghostly reflection. This is one for the collectors. It is in good condition but given it is gesso rich it is reasonably fragile so won't go in the post or suffer rough handling and won't tolerate steamy bathrooms. The finish too is now a mixture of gold and gilt. 113x61 cms
